Truck Jobs

The Elite Truck Driver

What is an elite truck driver? Lets face it, some truck drivers have better jobs than other truck drivers. The truck drivers with the best jobs are the elite truck drivers. With millions of truck drivers on the road somebody has to be on top. Although there are many good trucking jobs, here are the three top things that separate the elite truck driver from the rest.

1. Pay

2. Benefits

3. Home Time

The regular truck driver makes between 30-40 cents a mile. Although they have been driving for years this is all they will ever make. The elite truck driver makes over 50 cents a mile. He does not need to break the law to make good money.

The ordinary truck driver pays a lot for benefits if he has any benefits at all. The elite truck driver has some of the best benefits in the trucking industry for a reasonable price. Paid sick days and paid vacation time are hard to find in the trucking industry.

Last but not least the regular old trucker is gone from home a minimum of two weeks at a time. Making only 30-40 cents a mile forces most regular truck drivers to stay out for months at a time to make money. The elite truck driver is home every night sleeping in his or her own bed.

The elite truck driver does not shower at truck stops or sleep in his truck. The elite truck driver job has all the freedom of a regular trucking job with more pay and a schedule like any ordinary job. If you were to get into the trucking industry, what type of truck driver would you want to be? A regular truck driver or an elite truck driver?
